Join our client's R&D team in Milan and contribute to shaping the future of sustainable e-Mobility. We are seeking a skilled control engineer to play a key role in developing control concepts and software for new charging solutions in the field of e-Mobility, such as eBus flash-charging, large electric vehicle depots / terminals and battery-powered trains. Key responsibilities:
- Ensure good quality delivery on the control elements of e-Mobility charging solutions including control architecture, hardware selection, programming, code review, testing and lifecycle management.
- Develop / build proof of concepts as a step towards comprehensive control software development.
- Review, test, verify, and/or validate and fine tune control software (PLC, process regulation) for eMobility charging solutions according to security development lifecycle.
- Conduct comprehensive software testing, troubleshoot new features, analyse code, report bugs, propose and implement fixes, and ensure thorough verification and validation processes.
- Prepare or support in preparing technical documents (i.e. user manuals, deployment guidelines, troubleshooting guidelines, testing procedures and reports) in response to market / product / technical / functional / non-functional requirements specifications.
Experience:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science or similar with minimum 3 years of industry experience.
- Experience in industrial control software development with Codesys and with PLC programming, SCADA, WEB-HMI, and remote access.
- Experience in any of the following programming languages would be an advantage: Python, .Net, Java, C, Angular.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols like IEC60870-104, Modbus, MQTT, OPC, IEC61850 and network topologies would be an advantage.
- Experience with low voltage and medium voltage network distribution would be an advantage.
- Expertise in energy power systems and power generation sectors.
- Fluent command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Italian is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to Europe (approx. 10%).
- Experience in working with IEC standard, ANSI.
