Senior Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer for an exciting opportunity with a global technology leader advancing a sustainable energy future, based in Alamo, TN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design transformer components such as tap changers, measurement devices, and safety devices, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Perform engineering tasks involving analysis, design, development, testing, and service, working with instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and Bills of Materials.
- Prepare specifications and related documentation, adhering to established formats and requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design criteria meet application needs, recommending revisions as necessary.
- Investigate technical issues and establish corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Allocate time across activities: approximately 40% customer focus and commercial orders, 30% product care, and 30% operational troubleshooting and field support.
- Develop 2-D and 3-D CAD models of components and assemblies using advanced design tools for prototype, production, and retrofit applications.
- Assist in preparing drawings, material and design selections, quotations, and safety documents, obtaining necessary approvals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product design and performance.
- Learn and apply numerical tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electromechanical, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in design engineering.
- Proficiency in Pro-E or other 3D CAD modeling software.
- Experience with Windchill or similar PLM software.
- Background in developing electromechanical products, particularly power transformer components, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, engineering principles, and best practices.
- Work authorization permitting employment in the United States is required.
