We are seeking a highly analytical and creative Designer/Merchandiser to join our team and take our designs to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Jewelry Design & Development:

• Develop innovative jewelry designs that align with international market trends, customer preferences, and seasonal demands.
• Work closely with the design team to create sketches, CAD models (if applicable), and prototypes for new jewelry collections aimed at the export market.
• Analyze international design trends and consumer behavior to create designs that are appealing and competitive in various regions.

2. Market Analysis & Consumer Insights:

• Conduct in-depth research into the global jewelry market, analyzing trends, consumer behavior, purchasing patterns, and regional preferences.
• Utilize data and market intelligence to influence the design process, ensuring collections align with demand in specific export markets.
• Provide insights into regional market trends, identifying opportunities for growth and helping to forecast market shifts.

3. Collection Merchandising:

• Oversee the merchandising of jewelry collections, ensuring that each collection is curated to meet the needs of different international markets.
• Create visual presentations, lookbooks, and catalogs that effectively showcase new collections to international buyers, emphasizing key features and design elements.
• Develop pricing strategies for export markets, considering material costs, production timelines, and market competitiveness.

4. Client & Export Market Collaboration:

• Work closely with international clients, distributors, and sales teams to understand their needs and deliver collections that meet market demands.
• Present collections to global buyers, demonstrating how the designs align with market trends and offering advice on product selection and selling strategies.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies tailored to specific export regions, ensuring the product is presented effectively in different markets.

5. Product Lifecycle & Inventory Management:

• Manage the lifecycle of jewelry collections from concept to delivery, ensuring on-time production and delivery to meet export market timelines.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and adhere to quality standards while being cost-effective for export markets.
• Monitor inventory levels, working with production and sales teams to ensure product availability and minimize overstock or shortages.

6. Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing:

• Stay informed about global sustainability trends and ethical sourcing practices, incorporating them into the design and merchandising processes.
• Ensure that materials used in designs meet international standards for ethical sourcing and environmental sustainability.

7. Sales & Performance Analysis:

• Track the performance of jewelry collections in the export market, gathering data on sales figures, customer feedback, and market acceptance.
• Adjust merchandising strategies and designs based on performance analysis to optimize future collections and drive sales.

8. Additional Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating the manual designs for special orders, sample orders, and line PD, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Ensure all designs for model targets are sent as per norms.
• Ensure that all designs created meet the aesthetic and technical requirements, including design estimates (weight, pricing, model parameters) and adherence to the right diamond guidelines/charts.
• Ensure all designs are made as per client and category parameter norms.
• Ensure rework and rejection is reduced and productivity is maintained.
• Review the samples made and raise red flags if any issues arise.
• Create designs to achieve customer selection with the highest customer orders.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Education: Degree in Jewelry Design, Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in jewelry design, merchandising, or product development with a focus on the export market.
• Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of global jewelry trends and consumer behavior.
• Design Skills: Proficient in jewelry production techniques and CAD software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix).
• Analytical Skills: Ability to gather and interpret market data for informed decision-making.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication for collaborating with international clients and teams.
• Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Desirable:

• Experience with international sales teams or export clients.
• Knowledge of pricing strategies for export markets.
• Awareness of sustainable and ethical practices in the jewelry industry.
