Role: Engineer/Manager-Design (Substation)

Location: Mumbai

Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering (BE/B.tech/ ME/M.Tech)

Industry Desirable:  

• 8 + Years of experience in EPC Company
• At least 6 years as design engineer in Substation/Metro/similar line of projects

Job Purpose & Scope:

Responsible for project wise design and engineering solutions required for smooth running of project business (Air insulated & Gas insulated Substations up to 765kV level): To provide all deliverables to all functions during pre-bid & post bid stage of the assigned projects. To assist marketing team during bidding of the project, execution & SCM team for execution of projects. To support Design Head/BU Head for all his actions.

Major Areas of Responsibilities & Authorities

1. Pre execution activities:
• Study Project requirement, General Technical Specification, General Condition of Contract (GCC), Special Condition of Contract (SCC), Interpret conditions with special reference to engineering, execution and commercial terms
• Responsible for Detail engineering of Primary and Basic engineering of Seconda activities.
• Technical proposals to the client as per the requirements & provide cost-effective solutions.
• Site visits for pre-bid engineering and technical risk analysis.
• Preparation of pre bid engineering BOQ & Detail engineering BOQ.
• Interaction with coordinators and project managers for timely execution of project
activities and the respective input deliverables.
• Interaction with SCM/ Buyers for pre order technical validation and clearance for procurement.
• Technical guidance on list of drawings, engineering schedules, inter disciplinary dependable
drawings, project specific check lists & engineering monitoring status reports.
• Preparation of project wise detail engineering drawings.
• Design the substation drawings & finalize the execution BOQ for procurement.
• Verification of GTP and equipment drawings received through SCM from vendors and
further approval from the client.
• Interaction with client/consultant & get the approval of the Engineering drawings.
• Prepare the data/documents for the client meeting related to system engineering, design, BOQ finalization.
• Technical guidance / input assistance to equipment vendors for cost effective offers.
• monitoring of interdisciplinary activities (civil & mechanical) drawings for on time
submission & approval from client.
2. Execution activities:
• Assist the site team to understand the drawings, technicalities & carry out the work
• Update regularly the execution data substation wise & quantity variation.
• Visit site to sort out the problems related to engineering.
• Forecast the input requirements and ensure to arrange the inputs from client / site for smooth process of design activities.
• Timely completion of designs, requisitions and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure to maintain the Internal Quality systems project wise.
• Ensure to work with in the company budgets.

3. Post Execution activities:
• To update the execution quantity.
• Keep all records for future bidding
• Maintain the comparison statements of executed quantities for future estimation purpose

4. Other Activities:

• To assist Design Engineers for BOQ finalization during bidding of new project.
• Preparing technical synopsis of the project & standard GTPs
• List out requirements of necessary drawing/design/documents
• Verification of technical aspects of vendors materials, proposal & evaluation of new vendors.
• Team management & development through training & knowledge sharing sessions
