Position: Senior HR Executive/ HR Business Partner– Research Facility
Reporting to: Head of Operations
Location: Vashi, Navi Mumbai
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and adaptable HR professional to support our research-driven organization. The ideal candidate will have 5+years of progressive HR experience, preferably within academic, scientific, or research-focused institutions. You will be a key liaison between leadership and staff, helping to attract, retain, and support a highly specialized, multidisciplinary workforce while ensuring alignment with the facility’s mission and compliance requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s in HR or relevant specialization is preferred.
- 5–7 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in research, academic, or scientific environment strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of employment law, institutional compliance, and research staff lifecycle management.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with scientists, administrators, and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with grant-funded employment and research project staffing is an advantage.
- Discretion, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with scientific and administrative leaders to understand staffing needs and implement effective talent acquisition strategies, especially for niche research and technical roles.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes tailored to researchers, fellows, and support staff.
- Manage performance management processes that reflect the unique goals and timelines of research work.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating workplace culture.
- Support employee engagement through recognition programs, training opportunities, and regular feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with applicable labor laws, grant requirements, and institutional guidelines.
- Act as a trusted advisor on sensitive personnel matters including contracts, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Partner with finance and grant administration to ensure accurate staffing plans and budget alignment for research projects.
