The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a fully automated lubricants and grease manufacturing plant.
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a fully automated lubricants and grease manufacturing plant. This includes managing production, maintenance, quality, safety, logistics, HR, and financial performance. The GM will lead strategic planning and ensure operational efficiency, profitability, and regulatory compliance while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
- Lead day-to-day operations of the automated plant ensuring smooth, uninterrupted production.
- Optimize production planning and inventory control based on demand forecasts and raw material availability.
- Monitor and maintain plant automation systems and coordinate with technical teams for upgrades or troubleshooting.
2. Financial and Budget Control
- Develop and manage annual budgets, cost control measures, and financial planning.
- Monitor KPIs to ensure profitability, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Prepare and present periodic performance and financial reports to management.
3. Quality and Compliance
- Ensure products meet local and international quality and safety standards (e.g., ISO, API, SAE).
- Oversee quality control/assurance teams and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with environmental, health & safety, and legal regulations.
4. Team Management
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, logistics, HR, and QA/QC.
- Build a strong organizational culture focused on performance, safety, and accountability.
- Mentor department heads, conduct appraisals, and implement training and development programs.
5. Maintenance and Asset Management
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment and automation systems.
- Ensure proper calibration, repair, and upgrade of machinery in coordination with engineering teams.
6. Strategic Planning and Business Growth
- Identify new opportunities for product development, operational improvements, and market expansion.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies to support business objectives.
- Contribute to long-term strategic decisions including capacity expansion and technology integration.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Industrial Management (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in lubricants/grease manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of automated plant operations, blending processes, filling & packaging lines.
- Proven leadership in managing large teams and factory operations.
- Sound understanding of ISO, HSE regulations, and industry certifications.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and automation controls (PLC/SCADA).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle cross-functional coordination
