We are seeking a skilled Finanzbuchhalter*in for one of our client's to join their Hamburg team and help in building in-house bookkeeping capabilities. You will be a core member of the finance department, working closely with management to establish and optimize internal accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Finanzbuchhalter*in, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial and administrative tasks. Your daily work will be essential to the financial health and operational efficiency.
- Manage daily financial operations, including processing vouchers, bank statements, and postings in DATEV.
- Oversee dunning processes and monitor all payment transactions.
- Prepare and organize data for the tax advisor to support the creation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Handle travel expense reports and other general administrative tasks related to finance (offers, invoices, and payment tracking).
- Serve as a vital link between our management, backoffice team, and external partners (tax advisor, legal).
- Actively contribute to the optimization and documentation of our accounting processes.
- Play a crucial role in migrating our full bookkeeping from an external service to an in-house setup.
Essential Requirements :
We are seeking a proactive and self-managed professional who enjoys tackling financial challenges.
Must-Haves:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in finance or accounting.
- Very good, hands-on skills with DATEV.
- Solid knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB, GoBD).
- German language proficiency at a B2 level or higher.
Nice-to-Haves:
- A completed "kaufmännische Ausbildung" with an additional qualification in finance or accounting.
- Experience in setting up accounting structures within a scaling SME or startup environment.
- Knowledge of process automation.
Experience & Education:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant finance/bookkeeping experience
▪ Education: Kaufnpmannische Ausbildung required; university degree nice-to-have but not mandatory
▪ Specific Tools/Technologies: DATAEV (must), MS Office; general familiarity with accounting software/processes.
Personality Traits:
- Highly disciplined and detail-oriented, with a passion for numbers and solving financial puzzles.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.

▪ Remote / Hybrid / On-Site Policy: Hybrid- 46 self-managed remote days per year (1 day/week), max 5 consecutive remote days/month, 5 remote days can be taken as EU workation
