About the role:
We are looking to hire a Senior Payroll Manager for one of our client, a prestigious law firm. You will oversee the firm’s U.S. payroll operations, ensuring compliance with diverse regulations and wage laws while maintaining payroll efficiency and accuracy. You will lead and support payroll staff, safeguard sensitive compensation data, and collaborate closely with compensation and finance teams to align payroll processes with overall organizational strategy. This role offers a chance to contribute your expertise in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment within a top-tier legal firm.
What will you do:
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple states and offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Lead, develop, and mentor payroll staff to meet firm standards and support growth.
- Maintain payroll confidentiality and data integrity, safeguarding sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, wage & hour regulations.
- Collaborate with compensation and finance teams to align payroll processes with firm objectives.
- Monitor and implement best practices and process efficiencies in payroll delivery.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive payroll experience, including 3 years managing payroll teams.
- Strong working knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and regulations.
- Payroll management experience in law firms or professional services preferred.
- Proficiency with payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, or UKG; Workday Payroll Integration experience a plus.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
