Strategic IS Security Manager specializing in HVDC and Cloud Control Systems, ready to lead BUILD/RUN projects and drive the future security landscape for global positioning.

About the Role:
We are seeking a "Senior IS Security and Compliance Specialist" to join our client's team in a crucial Manager (Level 4) role. This position requires deep expertise in information security, compliance, and strategic technology implementation. The successful candidate will apply strong IS security knowledge across all IS process domains, primarily focusing on BUILD and RUN activities, to support global business requirements and solve complex security challenges.
This role combines hands-on security implementation with strategic planning and leadership, requiring the ability to manage complex projects and coach developing professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
IS Security & Compliance Execution:
- Apply expert IS security knowledge and practices to all Information Systems (IS) activities within the organisation.
- Identify, propose, advise on, and implement existing and emerging IS security technologies within IS solutions and services to meet evolving business needs.
- Ensure compliance with safe-coding practices and integrate robust security measures into the entire product and system life cycle management.
- Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders, writing detailed security documents and technical specifications.
- Work specifically on development projects focused on securing control systems for HVDC stations, network infrastructure, and cloud environments.
Management, Leadership, and Coaching:
- Manage assigned security projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision.
- Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals, providing guidance on security implementation and operation.
- Function as a team player, cooperating effectively with others, and possessing strong knowledge of Agile work methodologies.
Strategic Direction and Innovation:
- Identify, explore, and implement technology, product development, and growth strategies to enhance the company’s global security posture.
- Contribute to the development and securing of R&D capabilities, ensuring project execution and fostering innovation within the business.
- Devise research methods, focusing on future technical direction and emerging scenarios within the transforming technology landscape.
- Participate in intellectual property (IP) evaluations and the development of patent applications.
- Prepare technical specifications for laboratory test equipment and coordinate pilot-plant or initial production runs for new products or processes.
Required Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
- Mandatory: Previous experience in cyber security work.
- Option 1: Minimum of 5–8 years of work experience in the relevant field, including demonstrated leadership or management responsibilities, coupled with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Option 2: An alternative IT degree with more than 15 years of work experience in the relevant field.
Skills and Certifications:
- Language: Working command of the English language is mandatory.
- Certifications (Advantageous): Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar recognized certification.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of IS security principles applied to both application development (BUILD) and infrastructure management (RUN).
- Behavioral: Highly cooperative, self-sufficient, and capable of solving difficult and sometimes complex problems independently.
