Job Overview:
The Financial Compliance Specialist manages and maintains state licenses related to lending and loan servicing, acting as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies. This role designs and oversees compliance training programs, including creating course content, managing learning management systems (LMS), and tracking training completion. The specialist supports internal and external audits, maintains detailed compliance documentation, and works closely with business units to embed compliance within business operations, promoting a proactive compliance culture across the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business, finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, licensing, or regulatory affairs within banking, fintech, or lending
- Proven experience managing licensing across multiple U.S. jurisdictions
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks governing financial services
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Compliance certifications such as CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent are preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage licensing applications, renewals, and regulatory reporting
- Develop and deploy compliance training programs, monitor and report on training completion
- Support audits and regulatory examinations with thorough documentation
- Maintain risk mitigation and compliance records
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate compliance into daily business activities
- Advocate and foster a proactive culture of compliance
