Direct Reporting: Section Head – Manufacturing
Indirect (Dotted) Reporting: Manufacturing Lead

Key Interfaces: Production Planning & Control (PPC), Maintenance, Quality, Stores, Machine Suppliers
Section III: Purpose of the Role
To supervise and manage day-to-day production activities in the Grinding and Assembly areas, ensuring achievement of production targets with optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials while maintaining quality, cost, delivery, and safety standards.
Section IV: Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Supervise day-to-day operations in Grinding and Assembly sections.
Ensure adherence to daily and monthly production plans as per PPC schedules.
Allocate manpower effectively and monitor operator performance.
Monitor machine utilization, cycle times, and setup changes to meet targets.
Ensure product quality by following SOPs, work instructions, and inspection standards.
Identify and resolve shop-floor issues related to productivity, quality, and safety.
Conduct on-the-job training for operators and new joiners.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, PPC, and Stores for smooth operations.
Monitor and control WIP, tools, gauges, and consumables.
Ensure strict compliance with safety norms and 5S practices.
Section V: Key Result Areas (KRAs)
Productivity: Achieve PMPD as per productivity norms.
Profitability: Control stores and consumable costs.
Quality: Reduce sectional rejection and rework.
Delivery/Revenue: Achieve daily production targets as per PPC plan.
Equipment Effectiveness: Improve and sustain Section OEE.
Section VI: Qualifications & Experience
Education: ITI / Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical or relevant discipline.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in supervising Grinding and/or Assembly operations in a manufacturing environment.
Section VII: Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations.
Basic understanding of quality tools and productivity metrics (OEE, PMPD).
Ability to read work instructions and follow SOPs.
Teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving mindset.
Willingness to work in shifts as per production requirements.
