About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Engineer to join multidisciplinary oil and gas modification projects. The role focuses on delivering high-quality instrumentation engineering across FEED and execution phases, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient technical solutions in complex project environments.
You will take ownership of instrumentation scope, from design and documentation to procurement, installation support, and site execution follow-up. The role requires strong technical expertise combined with excellent collaboration skills in multidisciplinary project settings.
What You'll Do
Review engineering documentation and drawings, and define instrumentation scope in FEED phase
Prepare design basis for estimation, planning, and procurement across FEED and execution
Present and communicate technical work during FEED phase activities
Update engineering drawings and technical documentation
Prepare installation work packages and documentation for execution
Handle procurement and follow-up of materials, including package and bulk items
Take full responsibility for instrumentation deliverables within assigned projects
Conduct site surveys and evaluate installation conditions
Assess equipment types, vendors, and installation methods
Ensure technical compliance with standards and project requirements
Who You Are
Minimum 5 years of experience in multidisciplinary oil and gas projects, preferably modification projects
Strong experience in field instrumentation, including defining requirements, technical documentation, procurement, and QA of equipment and documentation
Experience preparing design documentation, site surveys, and evaluating equipment, vendors, and installation methods
Solid knowledge of relevant directives and standards such as ATEX and IEC
Experience working with instrumentation installation documentation and work packages
Strong understanding of complex modification project environments and cross-disciplinary collaboration
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant engineering field
Experience with tools such as EPLAN, CANECO, SmartPlant Instrumentation, MS Visio, MS Office, and PIMS
Experience with Equinor TRs and NORSOK standards is an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
