About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team in Oslo, Norway. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance across multiple locations. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to support business-critical services while driving continuous improvements in network architecture and operations.
This position is ideal for a professional with strong experience in enterprise networking, routing, switching, firewalls, and cloud connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Implement and maintain network security policies, segmentation, ACLs, and secure remote access solutions.
Support cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure refresh projects.
Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance activities when required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or Network Infrastructure Engineer.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, NAT, and QoS.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, HPE, or Fortinet networking equipment.
Experience managing enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or Check Point.
Solid understanding of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
Experience with wireless networking technologies and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions.
Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Experience using network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or Zabbix.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certification.
Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS certifications.
Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
Knowledge of network automation using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
Experience with Zero Trust networking concepts.
Familiarity with VMware NSX or software-defined networking technologies.
Understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise service management.
