About the Role
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join a global Network Control team supporting advanced power grid solutions.
In this role, you will work with cutting-edge SCADA/EMS technologies to optimize the operation of electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution networks. You'll collaborate with customers across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania to configure, customize, test, and integrate mission-critical applications that support modern power systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in electrical power systems, SCADA applications, and software development who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, customize, and enhance Network Control applications to meet customer requirements.
Develop and support software solutions for SCADA, EMS, and Grid Management Systems.
Collaborate with customers to design and implement integrations between SCADA/EMS platforms and other IT/OT systems.
Create and execute system testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and technical issues throughout project delivery.
Support proposal and tender teams by providing technical expertise during bid preparation.
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality customer solutions.
Participate in customer workshops, technical discussions, and system implementation activities.
Travel occasionally to customer sites when required.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience, or
Another relevant technical degree with more than 15 years of professional experience in power systems engineering, SCADA, EMS, application engineering, or a related field.
Basic understanding of electric power generation and transmission networks.
Basic understanding of SCADA systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and FORTRAN.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel and work at customer locations when required.
Valid SSG-Entré certificate.
Ability to work primarily on-site in Västerås, with up to 49% remote work within Sweden.
