Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic IR Leadership
Lead the overall Industrial Relations strategy for the plant.
Anticipate IR risks and proactively design mitigation strategies.
Advise Plant Head on IR climate, workforce sentiment, and legal exposure.
2. Statutory Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with all applicable labour laws:
Factories Act
Industrial Disputes Act
Contract Labour Act
PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity Acts
Lead statutory audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Liaise with government authorities, labour commissioners, and external agencies.
Mitigate legal risks and represent the organization in labour courts/tribunals.
3. HR Operations Excellence
Oversee end-to-end plant HR operations including:
Recruitment & onboarding (staff & workmen)
Attendance, payroll inputs, and leave management
Exit management and settlements
Drive digitization and process improvements in HR systems.
4. Contract Labor & Vendor Management
Ensure compliance with Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act.
Optimize contract workforce deployment and cost efficiency.
Manage vendor relationships, audits, and documentation.
5. Employee Engagement & Culture Building
Design and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Promote a culture of trust, discipline, and productivity.
Drive communication forums like town halls, open houses, and worker committees.
Lead welfare initiatives aligned with statutory and organizational requirements.
6. Capability Building & Talent Development
Identify skill gaps across workforce levels and implement training plans.
Develop supervisors and frontline leaders on IR and people management.
Drive multi-skilling and productivity enhancement initiatives.
7. HR Analytics & Business Partnering
Track and analyze HR metrics:
Attrition, absenteeism, overtime, productivity
Provide insights and recommendations to Plant Leadership.
Support manpower planning and cost optimization strategies.
