Senior CAPEX Project Manager – Corporate Real Estate

Sperton Global AS, a global recruitment and consulting firm with offices across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is partnering with our client, a global leader in power technology and electrical infrastructure, to hire a Senior CAPEX Project Manager supporting corporate real estate and major capital projects in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, United States.
Role Overview
The Senior CAPEX Project Manager will lead complex new-build and expansion projects from pre-planning through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and to required quality standards. The role will work across engineering, construction, operations, corporate real estate, business stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and third-party firms.
This is a senior, autonomous project leadership role requiring strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to connect business requirements with project execution. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with technical drawings, schedules, budgets, and project details while leading people and external partners.
The role will require regular travel and a strong onsite presence during active construction phases.
Responsibilities
Lead corporate real estate CAPEX projects from pre-planning, design, and development through construction, completion, and post-completion activities.
Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, risks, and execution plans.
Coordinate engineers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, operations teams, and internal stakeholders to maintain project milestones.
Serve as a key contact and escalation point for project-related technical, commercial, and execution matters.
Review drawings, schedules, specifications, and technical documentation to support project decisions and execution.
Oversee third-party firms and internal contributors, providing direction, accountability, and support.
Conduct studies, investigations, research, and cost evaluations to support project decisions and capital investment planning.
Prepare capital investment budgets, project pricing, forecasts, and required approvals.
Monitor project execution for schedule, quality, safety, building-code compliance, company policies, and project specifications.
Build strong relationships across engineering, construction, operations, corporate real estate, and business functions.
Identify lessons learned and opportunities to improve project delivery, processes, and internal service.
Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States. No sponsorship is available.
Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated accomplishments.
Proven experience leading complex CAPEX, construction, corporate real estate, infrastructure, or related capital projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage significant project budgets, schedules, risks, and multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Strong technical understanding of construction projects, including drawings, schedules, specifications, and project execution.
Strong understanding of financial processes related to capital projects, including budgeting, forecasting, project pricing, and approvals.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and project management tools; experience with Microsoft Project or similar tools preferred.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and construction-related tools preferred.
Exceptional oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and managing multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel regularly and maintain a strong onsite presence during critical construction phases.
