Shape quality engineering for a key retail integration platform in Malmö. Lead test automation, CI/CD quality, and reliable delivery across autonomous DevOps teams.
Location: Malmö, Sweden
Employment Type: Contract
Work Arrangement: On-site – 100%
Seniority Level: Senior
Assignment Period: 1 December 2026 – 31 May 2027
About the Role
Sperton is looking for a Senior QA Engineering Leader to support our client in Malmö and define the quality engineering strategy for the CRISP platform, a key integration solution within the client's digital retail core.
In this role, you will drive the development of modern quality assurance practices, test automation, test architecture, and CI/CD quality controls. You will work closely with autonomous DevOps teams, architects, developers, and stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable software delivery.
A strong understanding of data integration architectures, including hub-and-spoke integration models and modern API Management (APIM), is essential. You should also understand how cloud-based development has transformed traditional QA into a shift-left approach, where quality engineering and automated testing are embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive the QA strategy, test architecture, and test automation roadmap for the CRISP platform.
Design, maintain, and improve test frameworks, testing tools, and quality engineering standards.
Establish consistent QA processes, governance, documentation, and best practices across development teams.
Lead and support platform testing, integration testing, automated testing, and performance and reliability testing where applicable.
Represent QA in architecture discussions, engineering forums, and stakeholder meetings.
Define quality gates and validate CI/CD pipelines, automated checks, test coverage, and release readiness.
Collaborate with the CRISP team on source control, build management, release management, and secure software delivery processes.
Promote a quality-by-design culture by embedding testing and automation early in the development lifecycle.
Identify opportunities to reduce manual testing, improve automation reliability, and increase test pass rates.
Improve deployment frequency, delivery agility, and change lead time while reducing operational overhead.
Evaluate QA tools, testing technologies, and industry best practices to improve quality engineering capabilities.
What We're Looking For
At least 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or quality engineering.
Strong understanding of data integration architectures, including hub-and-spoke models and modern API Management (APIM).
Good knowledge of non-functional requirements (NFRs), particularly integration-related requirements.
Experience with modern QA practices within autonomous DevOps teams.
Hands-on experience developing and implementing test automation.
Good understanding of software engineering principles and development practices.
Knowledge of test frameworks, QA tools, and automation technologies available on the market.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates, and release validation.
Understanding of cloud-based development and shift-left quality engineering practices.
