Who are we looking for:
- Experienced candidate in developing long-term (minimum 10 to 40 yrs) projections of electricity, capacity, and REC prices.
- Knowledgeable in modelling of electrification, distributed energy resources, crypto mining load, low carbon and/or zero emission resources such as offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, energy storage, hydrogen enabled resources, CCS resources etc. along with zonal transmission limits, demand curves and others
- Competent working on electricity market simulation models (i.e. capacity expansion model and/or production cost models).
- Someone who can manage internal and external stakeholders and has effective communication and presentation skills.
- Data management / Modules simulation / Market structure / Transmission process
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Business or similar.
- 3-10 years of work experience in energy simulation models, pricing projections or portfolio optimization in the North American, South Central and LATAM electricity markets.
- Proficient in PROMOD, Planning & Risk, Portfolio Optimization, Capacity Expansion, GE Maps, Plexos, Aurora (detailed asset evaluation within energy)
- Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs – PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, Ontario or IESO, SPP, CAISO, ISO-NE, Quebec, or Maritimes.
- Analyzing and presenting a coherent narrative around regional power market trends and the ability to manage large data sets
- MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, others), Power BI skills are required and Python Experience (Preferred)
