The Assistant Logistics Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient dispatch of materials to various locations, in line with operational demands. This role involves preparing necessary documentation for the transportation of materials, monitoring the condition of received goods, and overseeing staff movements associated with company vehicles. The Assistant Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth flow of logistics operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and contributing to overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and ensure the timely dispatch of materials to various locations based on operational needs.
- Prepare delivery tickets, waybills, and other required documents for the transportation of materials.
- Ensure that materials received from suppliers are in good condition, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the relevant departments promptly.
- Monitor the movements of personnel and staff using company vehicles, ensuring that all movements are properly logged with the dispatcher.
- Coordinate with drivers and logistics staff to ensure compliance with company vehicle policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatched and received materials, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and filed appropriately.
- Assist in preparing reports on logistics activities, including dispatches, receipts, and inventory levels.
- Utilize ERP systems for logging and tracking material movements, dispatches, and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Specialized diploma or certification in Logistics or Dispatch is an advantage.
- 2–4 years of relevant work experience in logistics, dispatch, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English (Basic reading, writing, and good speaking) and Arabic (speaking).
- Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
