Job Summary:
The Lead Tendering/Lead Estimator for Power Transmission, Distribution and substation will be responsible for managing the tendering process, developing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring competitive bids are submitted on time. The role involves close collaboration with cross functional teams including project management, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to develop accurate and compelling proposals that meet client requirements and align with company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Experience: 15+ years of experience working on international projects (EPC)-Geography -Africa+ ME ----LATAM & AUS will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Tendering Process Management:
- Lead the entire tendering process from initial inquiry through to submission, ensuring all tender requirements are met.
- Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to determine project scope and key deliverables.
- Develop a comprehensive bid strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and market conditions.
- Responsible for Techno-commercial and Financial bids
- Site Visits
- Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for power transmission and distribution projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Perform risk assessments and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all cost estimates by reviewing all factors influencing cost, including local regulations, material availability, and market trends.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and technical proposals.
- Engage with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Proposal Development:
- Compile comprehensive bid proposals, including technical submissions, cost breakdowns, project schedules, and risk assessments.
- Ensure that all proposals are compliant with client specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
- Present and justify estimates and proposals to senior management and clients.
- Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform bid strategies.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding market positioning and pricing strategies.
- Post-Bid Support:
- Participate in post-tender negotiations and clarifications with clients.
- Support the project team during the handover process, ensuring a smooth transition from bid to project execution.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all tenders, estimates, and related documentation.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on tendering activities, success rates, and market trends.
