As they continue to pave the way for a greener future, they are looking to hire a Senior R&D Electrical Engineer, High Voltage Fuses to join their team in Alamo, Tennessee.
Role Overview:
The Senior R&D Electrical Engineer, High Voltage Fuses serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in lab testing and development, focusing on enhancing transformer components, particularly expulsion fuses, to meet IEEE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a key member of the R&D team, the candidate will be responsible for developing innovative technologies and products for high-voltage components, with a focus on expulsion fuses.
- Independently manage development projects, ensuring adherence to time, budget, and quality objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies, creates technical concepts, designs products, and perform simulations to predict performance.
- Coordinate prototyping and testing activities in the lab to validate new technologies and product designs.
- Document and share findings with the production environment, both locally and internationally, to support knowledge transfer.
- Provide technical expertise to other departments, including engineering, product management, and business development.
- Participate in pre-standardization and standardization work on an international level.
- Remains updated on advancements in technology, standards, and market trends relevant to high-voltage fuses and expulsion fuse applications.
Your Background:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required, with at least 5 years of engineering experience.
- Extensive knowledge in the design and development of IEEE high-voltage insulation components, focusing on expulsion fuses, transformer protection devices, and R&D lab testing.
- Proven track record in project coordination or design lead roles.
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Creo Pro/E), simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, COMSOL), Windchill, SAP, and MS Office.
- Experience in cost reduction and application of lean-six-sigma methods is preferred.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, proactive, and results-focused.
