Our company is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Governance Consultant to join our team. This role requires a keen understanding of IT governance frameworks and the ability to implement them effectively across various business units, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
Role Overview:
The IT Governance Consultant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust IT governance structures and processes within the organisation. This position involves collaborating with IT and business leaders to develop governance frameworks, assess risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Core Responsibilities:
IT Governance Framework Development:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive IT governance frameworks and policies that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure IT processes and systems adhere to established governance practices and standards.
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage IT-related risks to minimise impact on business operations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure effective risk management practices are in place.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and COBIT.
- Participate in audits and assessments to maintain compliance with internal and external guidelines.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and implement IT governance processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with IT teams and business units to ensure understanding and adherence to governance frameworks.
Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
- Monitor IT governance processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Prepare and present regular reports on IT governance performance and compliance to senior management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT governance, risk management, or compliance.
- Certification in IT governance or related areas, such as CISA, CGEIT, or COBIT, is highly desirable.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks and standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in risk management and compliance assessment tools.
