We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Manager for Production Engineering & NPI (New Product Introduction) to join a forward-thinking industrial technology organization. This role is central to aligning engineering, production support, and NPI (New Product Introduction) efforts across global operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving process excellence, digital transformation, and sustainability integration in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including Production Engineers, NPI, Methods, and Production Support.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR and Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ) to drive team accountability and continuous improvement.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, lean thinking, and operational excellence.
- Oversee the use and accuracy of CAD, PDM, and ERP systems, including BOM and work instruction integrity.
- Promote and implement advanced technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, digital twins) for process optimization and predictive analytics.
- Integrate sustainability practices into all engineering and production processes (e.g., LCA, energy efficiency, waste reduction).
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, Supply Chain, and suppliers to embed Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate cross-functional gate reviews to align new product launches with scalability and customer needs.
- Lead risk mitigation strategies using FMEA and business continuity planning for supply, equipment, and process disruptions.
- Monitor post-launch product performance and proactively resolve field issues.
- Maintain and update centralized digital knowledge bases (e.g., PDM/SVN repositories) for lessons learned and issue tracking.
- Ensure harmonization of processes across global operations, while supporting site-specific adaptations.
- Develop and roll out training on new tools, workflows, and change management initiatives.
- Empower operators through hands-on troubleshooting programs and lean autonomy initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering field.
- Preferred: Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or Sustainable Manufacturing.
Experience:
- 5+ years in production engineering or manufacturing technology roles.
- At least 2 years of experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong background in NPI execution, risk mitigation, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced skills in CAD (SolidWorks/Circuit Studio), ERP, and PDM/SVN platforms.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 tools including IoT systems, digital twin simulation, and AI-driven analytics.
- Understanding of Lifecycle Assessments (LCA) and sustainable manufacturing practices.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and change management capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with experience in interpreting KPIs, conducting RCA, and prioritizing continuous improvement actions.
- Proficient in English (spoken & written); Intermediate level Latvian preferred.
