Job Summary
The Tyreman will be responsible for repairing, replacing, and fitting tyres for various heavy vehicles and equipment used in drilling operations. The role involves diagnosing tyre issues, performing maintenance and seasonal changeovers, and ensuring safe and efficient tyre operations in accordance with KDF’s workshop standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair, replace, and fit tyres on heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct seasonal tyre changeovers and inspect tyre condition, pressure, and tread depth.
- Detect and repair punctures, tears, and other defects.
- Remove and unbolt wheels using hand or power tools.
- Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects; seal punctures using adhesive materials and rubber plugs.
- Patch ruptured tyre casings with rubber cement and apply adhesive before vulcanization.
- Rotate tyres and ensure correct balancing.
- Maintain tyre records and order replacements for worn or damaged tyres and tubes.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma required; ITI Technical Trade Certificate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Tyreman in heavy equipment workshops, including tyre placement and balancing.
- Language: Must be able to speak and write in English.
- Other: Physically fit and able to work in workshop environments.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range:
- 180–220 KD (8-hour shift)
- 230–270 KD (12-hour shift)
- Work Shifts: Morning / Evening
