Role Overview
We’re hiring for one of our clients a Senior Systems Engineer – Mechanical Design to take a key leadership role in the design and delivery of high-voltage substation systems. In this position, you will work on complex and varied projects in an international environment, taking responsibility for all aspects of mechanical design from initial concept through to final delivery. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and site personnel, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet technical standards, safety requirements, and project timelines. This role offers the opportunity to lead engineering activities, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to innovative solutions in the development of modern substations.
What you'll do
- Lead mechanical design activities for high-voltage substations, including layouts, cable routing, earthing, and installation drawings.
- Perform engineering analyses and ensure compliance with EN/IEC standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with internal teams and act as a consultant to management and customers for advanced technical issues.
- Support installation supervision on-site and provide remote technical support.
- Coordinate major engineering tasks with substantial impact on project outcomes.
- Promote a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork across all projects.
What You’ll Bring
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, including leadership or project responsibility.
- Experience with high-voltage systems, substations, or MV/HV switchgears (EPC experience preferred).
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., Revit).
