We are recruiting on behalf of Josef Meissner GmbH, with nearly 100 years of expertise in chemical plant engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of incoming and outgoing invoices
- Execution and monitoring of payment transactions
- Full-cycle financial bookkeeping including account reconciliations
- Preparation of VAT returns (Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung)
- Support monthly and annual closing activities
- Perform cost and performance accounting (Kosten- & Leistungsrechnung)
- Ensure compliance with German tax and accounting regulations
What We Are Looking For
Must-Haves:
- Completed Ausbildung as Steuerfachangestellte or business degree with tax/accounting focus
- 3+ years professional experience in finance or tax
- Strong VAT knowledge and understanding of German GAAP
- Advanced Datev skills
- Fluent German (C1 level or higher)
- Ability to work onsite in Cologne
Nice-to-Haves:
- English language skills
- Experience with partnerships (Personengesellschaften)

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: 50,000 - 60,000 EUR gross per year
- Vacation: 30 days + 8 additional bridge days
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Hybrid Work: Up to 1 day home office per week
