Role: Head Quality
Reporting to: COO
Location: Peenya, Bangalore
Education Qualification: B.E in Mechanical Engineering
Experience required
• 14-18 years of experience in the following:
• Handling customer complaints and customer audits
• Must have lead a team in the quality department
• Should have worked in Inprocess and final quality
• Should have worked on QMS, IATF and ISO
Technical & Professional Knowledge required:
• IATF 16949 2016/ ISO 9001 2015
• Quality core tools: SPC,MSA,FMEA,APQP,PPAP
•7QC tools,8D methodology, problem solving skills and WHY WHY analysis
• DOE
• Knowledge of machining (e.g. Turning, Hobbing, Grinding, etc.) and Heat Treatment (Normalizing, Induction Hardening etc.) processes
Purpose:
This role responsibility is to guide and lead the quality team and ensure that functional excellence is enhanced, and structured problem-solving approach is being followed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency by Identifying critical parameters of product and process performance of the business. This role reports to Head - Operations (Works Director)
Strategic Responsibilities
• Conducting quality audits and inspection with corrective/preventive action plan as a point of awareness and getting the processes run with correct SOP's
• Anticipating and act on possible customer concern regarding the product and/or the process
Operational Responsibilities
• Responsibilities of running different types of material functions and it’s metallurgy and its science
• Accountable for managing waste in production and improving efficiency within production processes
• Accountable for APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) for new products with a focus on quality
• Owning the responsibility of assessing the quality of a product or service through a variety of stress tests
• Working with management teams to provide recommendations and solutions to quality issues
• Responsible for improving in-process quality throughout all phases of production
• Responsible for getting assessments done through the team and reviewing all materials provided by suppliers and job vendors (receiving inspection) to ensure overall quality.
• Responsible for investigating the root causes of defects and recommending solutions for quality issues
• Accountability for onboarding and training new quality control team members
• Managing and staying up-to-date with new quality control techniques and methods
• Accountabilities to ensure zero customer complaints
• Responsibilities to ensure that every employee adheres to the quality system
• Owning responsibilities for driving cost-saving projects at various levels in the plant
• Implementing a robust Kaizen culture and motivating employees to work towards Kaizens.
• Responsible for ensuring all employees follow the quality policy established at all plants
• Responsibilities of organising and reviewing quality meetings, audits, and certifications required as per industry standards
• Responsibilities of implementation of defect identification and resolution system guidelines
• Responsible for line quality for both domestic and export customers
• Responsible for reducing process rejection through CAPA
• Responsible for innovation and transformation of the QA system as per customer and industry requirements
• Responsible for achieving the budgeted revenue through reducing customer complaints
People Management
• Establishing clear line of communication in the team and delegating of work correctly in the team with available talent
• Responsible for department's performance and monitor their individual KRA's
