Role Overview
We are hiring for one of our clients a leading precision manufacturing company seeking a highly skilled CNC Turning Machinist to join their growing team in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC Swiss turning machines to produce complex precision parts. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and product quality across all machining operations.
What You’ll Do
- Operate and set up CNC Swiss turning machines to meet production standards.
- Perform G-code and M-code hand programming when required.
- Ensure precision machining within sub-0.0005 inch (0.0127 mm) tolerances.
- Conduct in-process inspections using metrology and measuring tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T drawings, and technical documentation.
- Maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards throughout operations.
Must-Have
- High school diploma, or military training, or certification in machining.
- Minimum 7 years of CNC turning machine operation experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in setting up and operating Swiss Turning machines.
- Proven experience working with tight tolerances and precision components.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and machining principles.
- Strong ability to hand-code using G & M codes.
- Skilled in using precision measurement and metrology tools
Good to Have
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Esprit, Mastercam, NX).
- Familiarity with Star Swiss-style lathes.
- Knowledge of CMMs and advanced metrology equipment.
- Experience in Tool Grinding and New Product Introduction (NPI).
