Position: PCS 7 Programmer
Department: Automation / Engineering
Reporting To: Project Manager / Automation Head
Location: Mumbai
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PCS 7 Programmer with strong expertise in Siemens DCS systems. The candidate will be responsible for developing, configuring, testing, and commissioning PCS 7 systems for industrial automation projects while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and configure Siemens PCS 7 DCS applications
Develop control logic, interlocks, and sequences as per P&ID, control philosophy, and FDS
Configure hardware including CPUs, remote I/O, networks, and field devices
Develop and customize HMI/OS screens, faceplates, alarms, and trends
Implement batch, continuous, and sequential control strategies
Perform FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site support activities
Interface PCS 7 with third-party systems (PLC, SCADA, VFD, analyzers, etc.)
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Prepare and maintain project documentation such as FDS, SDS, test reports, and manuals
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards
Coordinate with instrumentation, electrical, and process teams
Provide training and technical support to end users
Technical Skills Required
Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PCS 7 (V8.x or above)
Experience with CFC, SFC, and LAD/FBD programming
Knowledge of WinCC / PCS 7 OS Engineering
Experience in Profibus / Profinet / Industrial Ethernet
Familiarity with P&ID interpretation and control philosophy
Experience in FAT/SAT and commissioning activities
Knowledge of integration with PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, and field instruments
Preferred Skills
Experience with Batch systems (PCS 7 Batch / ISA-88)
Knowledge of Safety systems (PCS 7 Safety / SIL)
Basic understanding of cybersecurity and network architecture
Experience in Pharma, Chemical, Power, Cement, or Oil & Gas industries
Qualifications
BE / BTech / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Automation
2–8 years of relevant experience (can be adjusted as per requirement)
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Willingness to travel to project sites
