Job Description – Central Planning Manager
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategic Planning
· Develop and oversee project schedules for multiple construction projects.
· Align project timelines with company objectives and resource availability.
· Evaluate project priorities and create master schedules.
Coordination & Collaboration
· Liaise with project teams, procurement, and site managers to ensure seamless communication.
· Coordinate with design, engineering, and execution teams to mitigate delays.
Resource Management
· Monitor resource allocation (materials, labour, and equipment) to optimize efficiency.
· Develop forecasts to anticipate resource needs.
Monitoring & Reporting
· Track project progress and identify critical path activities.
· Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management.
Risk Management
· Identify risks to project delivery and propose mitigation strategies.
· Address schedule deviations and implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement
· Develop and implement planning and scheduling best practices.
· Leverage technology to improve project management efficiency.
Additional Expertise
· Extensive experience in costing and budgeting for high-rise and turnkey construction projects.
· Strong capability in quantity take-off and estimation from drawings (RCC, finishing, MEP, etc.).
· Hands-on experience in tender preparation, bid evaluation, and techno-commercial analysis.
· Proficient in detailed rate analysis including material, labour, machinery, and overhead cost assessment.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis tools, dashboards, and financial modelling for project control and cost monitoring.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience
· 8+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
· Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in MS Project or similar planning tools.
· Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
· Knowledge of ERP systems used in construction
