Role Overview
We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for one of our clients in Jonsered. In this senior role, you will take ownership of complete machine development — from conceptual CAD design and system breakdown to prototype building, real-life testing, and product improvement. You will collaborate with project/product management, industrial design, aftermarket, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and certification partners to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions for construction products. This position requires deep mechanical expertise, hands-on practical skills, and the ability to drive complex mechanical challenges in a collaborative, empowered team environment.
What You’ll Do
Break down complete machine requirements into system and component specifications
Conceptualize and design machine systems with focus on manufacturability, maintainability, testability, affordability, safety, and security
Build prototypes and verify concepts through real-life testing
Release parts and assemblies in the PLM system
Perform product improvement, quality work, and risk analyses
Contribute to certification activities and safety assessments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
Who You Are
Must-Have Requirements
MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
At least 5 years of relevant experience in machine or product development
Proven ability to create innovative solutions for complex mechanical challenges
Strong knowledge of sheet metal, welded structures, forged/cast/machined components
Deep competence in mechanical analysis/dimensioning (gears, shafts, rotating parts, bearings, lubrication, belt transmissions, noise/vibration, durability, CAE methods)
Hands-on practical experience (highly valued)
Fluent in English and Swedish
Nice to Have
Experience with CATIA V5
