Role: Product Manager- Power tools
Location: Mumbai
Education Qualification:
Any Engineering graduate (preferred Mechanical or Metallurgy), from a reputed university. MBA will be added advantage
Technical & Professional Knowledge required:
Strong understanding of sourcing from China, Taiwan, and India – including vendor networks, trade regulations, and logistics.
Proven experience in product development and lifecycle management.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient in Google suite, SAP systems, and Product Management tools.
Mandarin or local language skills (for China/Taiwan coordination) would be an advantage.
Experience required:
8–12 years of experience in product development/ management and sourcing, preferably in PTA.
Candidates from below Industries who have proven experience of atleast 2years in Accessories Product Management would be preferred -Bosch, Stanley, Makita, Hikoki, Hilti, KPT, Ralliwolf, Bipico
Roles & responsibility
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management:
Develop and execute product roadmap for Power tool Accessories (Blades, Bits, Saws, Chisels, Nut setters etc. but excluding CT and Abrasives) in alignment with business goals. Manage
product launches, phase-outs, and portfolio optimization. Set the strategic vision for existing products and development of new products aligned with customer needs and business model.
Develop Product life cycle & profitability management for the new products.
Manage the existing line of products and lead the ongoing development of enhancements to support increased value to customers.
Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis for new designs and come up with design improvements to enhance their reliability.
Sourcing & Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers primarily in India, China, Taiwan. Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
New Products Strategic Sourcing (Vendor Identification, VQA & Approvals)
Existing Vendor Management (Negotiations for Price Reductions, Escalations & Conflict Resolution, etc)
Market & Competitive Analysis:
Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to identify gaps and opportunities for growth.
Conduct Competition Benchmarking & Product Testing.
Product Development:
Work with design, engineering, and suppliers to develop new products or enhance existing ones to meet market demand.
Pricing & Costing:
Develop pricing strategies based on cost structures, market positioning, and profitability goals. Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and quality teams to ensure successful go-to-market strategies and continuous product improvements.
Product/ Sales Data Analysis, Business Analysis & Competition Price Tracking
Market Visits for Market Research, Competition Intelligence & Business Development Activities
Product Trainings, Sales pitch and Product presentation creation
Quality & Compliance:
Work with QA/QC teams to ensure products meet required safety and performance standards across global markets.
Inventory & Demand Planning:
Assist in demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure availability while optimizing working capital.
