Senior Data Engineer – Reporting & Analytics
Oslo/Stockholm: We need a Senior Data Engineer (AWS/SQL/Python) to build robust analytics pipelines from messy data. Be an independent force in our growing SaaS platform.
Location: Oslo / Stockholm
Work Model - Hybrid
Type: Full-time
About The Role
At Sperton, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer on behalf of our client, Seamless Insure.
This is not a large-team specialist role. We need someone who can operate independently, make sensible technical decisions, clean up ambiguity, and turn imperfect source data into reliable reporting outputs. You will work with product, business, architecture, and engineering stakeholders, but you should be comfortable owning the data engineering delivery end to end
In this role, you will not just maintain existing pipelines, but actively improve how data and reporting are built, delivered, and trusted across the business.
About Seamless Insure
Seamless Insure is a multi-tenant SaaS platform built for insurers, MGAs, brokers, and distributors. The platform enables insurance businesses to manage core operations through configurable workflows, integrations, and unified reporting across a scalable environment.
With a growing focus on reporting and analytics, Seamless insure is investing in building a robust, reliable data foundation that supports both internal decision-making and client-facing insights.
What You’ll Do
Design and build scalable data pipelines for reporting and analytics
Develop analytical data models for internal and client-facing reporting
Improve data quality, consistency, and reliability across datasets
Work across an AWS-based data stack (ingestion → transformation → reporting)
Partner with business and product teams to translate reporting needs into solutions
Identify root causes of data issues and fix them properly (not patchwork fixes)
Own delivery end-to-end: design, build, test, and support
Contribute to improving standards, practices, and overall data maturity
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering (production environments)
Strong SQL and Python skills
Hands-on experience building data pipelines on AWS
Experience with reporting/analytics-focused data modeling
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proven experience as an individual contributor owning delivery
Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias for action
Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
Experience in insurance, fintech, or regulated industries
Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS environments
Experience with incremental data processing or CDC
Exposure to reconciliation-heavy reporting
Experience with Amazon QuickSight or similar BI tools
Mentoring or contributing to team best practices
What Success Looks Like
Reporting data becomes trusted and reliable
New reporting needs are delivered faster
Pipelines are stable and easier to maintain
Data issues are identified early and resolved properly
Reporting becomes a strong product capability for clients
Why Join Seamless Insure
Work on real-world data challenges in a live SaaS platform
High ownership and autonomy in your role
Direct impact on business and customer decision-making
Opportunity to shape reporting and analytics capabilities from the ground up
