Job Title: Manager – Technical Sales Support Engineer

Position Summary
The Technical Sales Support Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the global sales function of the business by delivering accurate, timely, and technically robust quotations for equipment and spare parts. This role bridges the gap between customers, sales teams, and internal engineering and operations functions, ensuring a seamless transition from enquiry through to order handover. The position requires strong technical capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quotation & Tendering Support
Prepare and deliver quotations for spare parts and capital equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage complex tender submissions, including:
Reviewing and interpreting technical specifications
Compiling technical and commercial clarification registers
Coordinating inputs from engineering and other internal stakeholders (commercial, logistics etc)
Develop and maintain cost budgets to support tendering and quotation activities.
Complete technical datasheets in accordance with customer and project requirements.
2. Spares Sales Support & Administration
Manage the spares enquiries inbox, ensuring efficient allocation and response to all incoming requests.
Provide technical support and clarification on spare parts enquiries to both internal teams and customers.
Maintain and update spare parts sell pricing in line with changes to cost pricing.
Monitor spares sales performance and prepare weekly and monthly sales metrics reports for spares.
3. Order Take-On & Handover
Support the transition from sales to project execution by ensuring all order documentation is accurate and complete.
Validate cost budgets at order intake stage to ensure alignment with quoted values and customer purchase orders.
Prepare detailed equipment specification sheets aligned with customer requirements to enable accurate engineering design and manufacturing.
Compile and deliver complete data packages for handover to the Contract Administration team.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with Engineering, Contract Administration, Factory, and Operations teams to ensure alignment across all stages of the sales and order process.
Identify and drive improvements to streamline quoting, order take-on, and handover processes.
Support international sales teams across multiple regions and time zones.
5. Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Develop, maintain, and optimise sales reporting systems and tools.
Analyse sales data and provide insights to support decision-making.
Capture and communicate customer feedback to internal stakeholders to support product development and improvement of sales processes.
Key Skills & Attributes
Strong technical aptitude, ideally within mineral processing or OEM equipment environments
High attention to detail and accuracy in commercial and technical documentation
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across time zones
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Commercial awareness with an understanding of costing and pricing structures
Proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving

Internal: Sales Teams, Engineering, Contract Administration, Factory/Operations
External: Customers, Suppliers, International Offices
Minimum Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering
3–5 years’ experience in a technical, sales support, or engineering environment (graduates or early-career professionals encouraged to apply)
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and cost information
High level of attention to detail, particularly in preparing quotations, datasheets, and technical documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (experience with ERP/CRM systems is advantageous but not essential)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications (or willingness to develop this capability)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn and improve processes
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, team-based environment
