Assignment Description
Are you an experienced Automation Engineer with strong PLC programming skills looking for a permanent opportunity in a traditional onshore industrial environment? This role offers the opportunity to work with industrial automation systems, programming, troubleshooting, and supporting PLC-based solutions while becoming a long-term part of the local community in Hønefoss.
The client is looking for a Norwegian-speaking engineer who is willing to relocate permanently to Hønefoss. This is not a commuting role; they are looking for someone who wants to become part of the local team and community.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, program, and maintain PLC-based automation systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve faults in industrial automation systems.
Support commissioning, testing, and optimization of automation solutions.
Work with HMI and industrial control systems where required.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure reliable operation.
Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure automation systems are operating safely and efficiently.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with PLC programming.
Experience working with industrial automation and control systems.
Knowledge of HMI, industrial communication networks, and commissioning is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Fluent Norwegian (spoken and written).
Fluent English.
Willingness to relocate permanently to Hønefoss (commuting is not suitable).
