Position Summary
The Branch Head – Electrical Automation will be responsible for leading the overall business operations, sales growth, profitability, and customer engagement of the branch. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong commercial acumen and technical expertise in industrial automation, capable of driving business expansion while ensuring operational excellence and high customer satisfaction.
The incumbent will be responsible for achieving business objectives through effective sales management, team leadership, project execution, and strategic market development.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Develop and implement branch sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Drive sales of industrial automation products and solutions, including PLCs, Drives, HMIs, Servo Systems, Switchgear, and related electrical products.
Identify and develop new business opportunities across manufacturing, process industries, OEMs, system integrators, and industrial customers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, consultants, and channel partners.
Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and business plans to support branch growth.
Branch Operations
Manage the overall operations of the branch, including Sales, Service, Technical Support, and Administration.
Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning while maintaining high operational efficiency.
Monitor branch performance against established business KPIs.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
Profitability & Financial Management
Achieve branch revenue, gross margin, and profitability objectives.
Monitor operational expenses and optimize resource utilization.
Review quotations, pricing strategies, and commercial negotiations.
Ensure timely collections and effective receivables management.
Customer Relationship Management
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key industrial customers.
Lead customer meetings, commercial discussions, and contract negotiations.
Ensure timely resolution of customer concerns and provide exceptional service support.
Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen business relationships.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and motivate the branch sales and technical teams.
Set performance objectives and monitor individual and team performance.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and employee development initiatives.
Foster a collaborative, customer-centric, and high-performance work environment.
Project & Solution Management
Oversee execution of automation projects from order receipt through commissioning and customer handover.
Coordinate with engineering and service teams to ensure timely project completion.
Ensure project quality, adherence to timelines, and customer satisfaction.
Strategic Planning
Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities.
Develop strategies to increase market share and expand business opportunities.
Support business planning and execution aligned with organizational objectives.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare periodic sales, operational, and financial performance reports.
Present branch performance updates to senior management.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, MIS reports, and business analytics.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and organizational policies.

Candidate Profile
Education
B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering may also be considered.
MBA in Marketing or Operations is desirable.
Experience
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in the Electrical or Industrial Automation industry.
Proven experience in branch operations, sales management, business development, or business unit leadership.
Experience working with industrial automation products and solutions is essential.
Exposure to leading automation brands such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi Electric, Rockwell Automation, Omron, or similar will be an advantage.
