Senior Electrical Engineer – HVDC Projects
Join a leading HVDC project team and contribute with electrical engineering expertise in complex power infrastructure projects.
Location: Ludvika, Sweden (Onsite preferred. Some remote work within Sweden may be possible by agreement.)
Employment Type: Full-time Consultant Assignment
Assignment Period: 2026-09-01 – 2027-02-28 (Extension may be possible)
Language Requirements: Fluent English, written and spoken, is mandatory. Swedish is considered an advantage.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for a consulting assignment with one of our clients, Hitachi Energy Sweden AB in Ludvika.
The role focuses on electrical engineering activities within HVDC projects, including design coordination, technical reviews, requirement specifications, supplier documentation, and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.
You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered according to technical, customer, and project requirements.
The ideal candidate has a strong electrical engineering background, experience working on complex engineering projects, and the ability to independently drive engineering activities forward.
What You'll Do
Prepare requirement specifications related to HVDC main auxiliary power systems and customer contracts
Coordinate with civil building teams, detail designers, contractors, and partners
Collaborate with other HVDC engineering disciplines
Review supplier documentation, including:
Small power system single line diagrams
Panel circuit diagrams and schematics
Layouts
Lighting calculations
Selectivity calculations
Small power cable way designs
Ensure compliance with HVDC EMC and RFI requirements
Review building small power system grounding solutions
Participate in BIM reviews
Prepare tender and project documentation
Support engineering cost estimation during tender phases
Provide technical support during testing, installation, and commissioning activities
Ensure engineering activities are completed with accurate and complete technical information
Coordinate engineering activities across projects
Prepare technical documentation within your area of responsibility
Who You Are
Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master’s degree, or Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
Strong electrical engineering background
Experience working with complex engineering projects
Ability to independently perform engineering activities and technical analyses
Experience reviewing technical documentation, drawings, schematics, and calculations
Experience supporting testing, installation, and commissioning activities
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Valid SSG-Entré certificate
Ability to work primarily onsite in Ludvika
