Sperton Global AS, a global recruitment and consulting firm with offices across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, has partnered with a fast-growing U.S.-based DTC fashion and apparel brand. We are looking for an Apparel Designer to join the Product Development team in Dallas, Texas.
This opportunity is particularly well suited to a recent Fashion/Apparel Design graduate or early-career designer who wants to take their university projects and creative skills into a commercial fashion environment. Relevant university projects, internships, and academic design experience are highly valued.
What You’ll Do
• Research and analyze global fashion trends, seasonal colour palettes, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, prints, and emerging consumer preferences.
• Monitor social media platforms, influencers, and e-commerce marketplaces to identify emerging trends and product opportunities.
• Develop mood boards, trend presentations, colour stories, and design concepts aligned with seasonal collections.
• Create apparel sketches, technical illustrations (CADs), and detailed tech packs for product development.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Merchandising teams to take concepts from ideation through production.
• Conduct competitor and market research to identify whitespace opportunities and potential product innovation.
• Participate in product reviews, fittings, and sample evaluations, incorporating feedback into design revisions.
• Maintain organized design files, specifications, and documentation throughout the development process.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, AI-powered design tools, and digital platforms that can enhance creativity and productivity.
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant apparel design experience, including internships, freelance work, or hands-on university/academic projects.
• Strong university or academic design projects will be highly valued, particularly where they demonstrate apparel development, technical design, or creative problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, fabric properties, and apparel manufacturing.
• Strong sketching, technical illustration, and presentation skills.
• Passion for fashion, consumer products, and identifying emerging market trends.
• Familiarity with social media, e-commerce platforms, and digital shopping behaviours.
• Tech-savvy, curious, and eager to adopt new technologies, AI tools, and digital platforms.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Hindi and/or Urdu language skills required.
Applicants must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with CLO 3D, Browzwear, or other 3D apparel design software.
• Basic understanding of apparel sourcing, product development, and manufacturing workflows.
• Portfolio showcasing apparel design projects, technical illustrations, CADs, tech packs, and creative thinking.
• Familiarity with U.S. fashion trends, retail brands, and consumer preferences.
