Purpose:

Plant Metallurgist : Material Testing Laboratory, Incoming Raw Material Inspection and Special Process Quality Control Team, IATF 16949

Location: Nashik, Maharashtra 

Education Qualification: BE / B. Tech- Metallurgy

Technical & Professional Knowledge required

• Understanding about Gear and Bearing component Metallurgy
• Know how about various manufacturing processes
• NPD,
• DFMEA, PFMEA
• IATF 16949

Experience required

• 8-10 years in automotive sector as Metallurgist in Automobile Domain
• Know about various material standards and heat treatment processes.
• Handling of Metallurgy Laboratory
• Experience in NPD,
• In-Process Quality,
• Various Quality techniques for problem solving
• People management
• Cost Saving projects,
• Strong Technical and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities attached to the role:
• Good Knowledge and Experience in Handling Metallurgy Lab, Receipt Inspection Quality and Special Processes (Welding, Heat Treatment Quality and NDT).
• Understanding about Gear and Bearing Metallurgy.
• Support to New Product/Process Development.
• Convergent with CQI9 and CQI 15 requirements.
• Internal Auditor IATF 16949.

• Metallurgy Lab
o Incoming Raw Material Inspection (Steel).
o Testing / Inspection of In-Process parts (Butt Welding, Normalizing, Induction Hardening) for Set up part clearance.
o Support service to Engineering for HT process Productionization.
o Support SCM for sourcing of parts, New Steel Supplier Development and Problem Solving.
o Co-ordinate with CFT for meeting Production Requirements
o Warranty, Trouble Shooting and Service Failure related Analysis.

• In-Process Quality (Special Processes)
o Validation of Welding, Normalizing and Induction Hardening.
o Understanding about Heat Treatment Requirements.
o 7 QC and IATF Core Tools

• New Product Development
o Part Drawing review and understand the HT requirements, coil/fixture design if any
o Standardize the tooling by trials and improvise Metallurgical Specifications, PPAP etc
o Support to establish suitable technical specifications for new machines and processes
o Streamlining process route and other development concerns
o Standardize Special process checksheets
