Event Sales Manager

An Event Sales Manager typically oversees the sales and coordination of events, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from the initial inquiry to post-event follow-up. He/she is responsible for driving revenue through the sale and execution of events. This role involves understanding client needs, building proposals, managing contracts, and ensuring events are successfully planned and executed according to the client's vision and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Client Relationship Management:
- Generate new business by identifying and pursuing sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits, meetings, and consultations with potential clients to understand their event needs.
- Prepare and present customized event proposals and packages.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices to secure bookings.
Event Planning & Coordination:
- Work closely with clients to determine the scope, requirements, and objectives of the event.
- Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with internal departments (catering, audiovisual, marketing, etc.) to ensure seamless event execution.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue setup, guest accommodations, transportation, and on-site staff.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all costs are tracked and controlled.
- Ensure events stay within budget, providing clients with cost-effective solutions.
- Process billing, invoices, and payments according to event terms.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Promote event services through advertising, social media, and other marketing strategies.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and other industry gatherings to build brand visibility.
On-Site Event Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the event.
- Supervise event setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Handle any on-site issues that may arise, ensuring the event runs smoothly.
Post-Event Follow-Up:
- Conduct post-event evaluations with clients to gather feedback.
- Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and explore opportunities for repeat business.
