Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Technical Writer to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our technical products and services. This role involves collaborating with engineers, developers, and product managers to produce high-quality documentation that effectively communicates the technical complexities and enhances the user's understanding and experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user manuals, guides, and technical specifications for various products and services.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to gather information, clarify technical details, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Organise and structure content to make it easy to navigate and understand, catering to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create and continuously update a comprehensive library of reusable content.
- Utilise industry best practices and tools to enhance the readability and accessibility of documents.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to improve and update existing materials.
- Engage in peer reviews and collaborate with other writers to ensure consistency and quality across all documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of proven experience in technical writing, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates strong writing and editing skills.
- Proficiency in various documentation tools and software, such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate complex ideas into simple, clear instructions.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with XML, HTML, and CSS is a plus.
- Familiarity with API documentation and software development processes.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management tools.
