As they continue to pave the way for a greener future, they are looking to hire a Field Service Engineer – Data Center to join their expanding service team.
Role Overview
Take the lead in delivering technical field service solutions related to power transformers and high-voltage substation equipment. This role covers installation, commissioning, diagnostics, maintenance, and software/hardware integration, while building strong customer relationships and identifying future service opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional service both on-site and remotely, including installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced troubleshooting of transformer systems.
Install and integrate transformer hardware, sensors, and accessories.
Configure and test transformer software (license setup, firmware updates, connectivity).
Serve as the primary technical point of contact during project execution for both customers and subcontractors.
Supervise and assign field tasks to optimize project cost and duration.
Conduct field tests using tools like Omicron relay test sets or equivalent.
Work with industrial protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and other communication interfaces.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and reporting standards.
Provide detailed service documentation and recommend improvements based on field findings.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required; associate degree or technical certification in an electrical or mechanical field preferred.
5+ years of hands-on experience with power transformers or high-voltage substations (>69kV).
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, relay diagrams, and test results.
Familiarity with test equipment: CB timers, power factor testers, CT/PT testers, TTR, and insulation resistance testers (Megger).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows tools.
Must have experience with data centers or high-reliability environments.
Must be open to 80–85% travel to customer sites across designated states.
