We are hiring a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Department Manager for a cutting-edge industrial technology company working in the Robotics for Wind Turbine Care. This role is critical in driving the performance and reliability of advanced robotic equipment used across global field operations. You will lead the global MRO function, ensuring world-class execution of preventive and corrective maintenance while fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global MRO operations, ensuring equipment safety, reliability, and availability across locations.
- Define departmental goals and KPIs; implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Develop and manage a distributed MRO team through training, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Oversee diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and the full lifecycle of technical equipment and tools.
- Maintain version control, technical documentation, and ensure alignment across departments.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Field Services to resolve issues and ensure operational readiness.
- Provide critical input into product and process improvement cycles.
- Enforce safety compliance and foster a strong safety-first culture.
- Standardize MRO processes, implement digital systems, and promote best practices across global sites.
- Identify opportunities for cost-efficiency, automation, and technology investments.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications in Asset Management, Lean Maintenance, or Reliability Engineering are a strong plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in a senior MRO or technical leadership role within manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, or other high-tech industrial environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or distributed maintenance teams.
- Background in high-availability and client-critical operational settings is highly valued.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electromechanics, and automation controls.
- Hands-on experience with MRO systems such as CMMS, NetSuite, MaintainX, and digital workflows.
- Skilled in root-cause analysis, diagnostics, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with HSE regulations and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 9001).
- Intermediate Latvian (Level 1) and fluent English (spoken & written).
