About the Assignment:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer for a long-term assignment in Stockholm. The role is network-focused and requires strong hands-on experience in modern network security solutions across on-premise and cloud environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain Secure Service Edge (SSE) solutions (e.g., Zscaler, Netskope, Palo Alto).
Implement and optimize Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) for private and public applications.
Configure and manage IP-VPNs for secure communication, particularly for on-premises and Azure environments.
Design and implement network segmentation strategies within data centers and hybrid environments.
Manage and configure firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, and load balancers.
Deploy and maintain Network Detection & Response solutions, including monitoring and alert management.
Troubleshoot and analyze issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, certificates, and other protocols.
Contribute to security architecture, design, and threat modeling, including system hardening, vulnerability analysis, and policy frameworks.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, Schrems).
Strengthen cloud security capabilities across Azure and GCP environments.
Support automation and orchestration of network security tasks (e.g., using Python scripting).

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Security Engineer or similar role.
Proven hands-on expertise in:
SSE and ZTNA solutions
Firewalls (Cisco FTS, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
IDS/IPS systems
VPN and IP-VPN management
Network segmentation in large-scale environments
SIEM, XDR, CASB, SWG, SASE, 802.1x
Solid understanding of network defense mechanisms, including identity and access management.
Expertise in cloud networking and security (Azure and GCP).
Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
Experience in security architecture and threat modeling.
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, PCI-DSS, Schrems).

Preferred Qualifications:

CCNP (Security) or higher certifications such as CCIE, CISSP.
Additional security certifications: Security+, GCIA, GCIH, GREM, CEH, GCFA, etc.
Azure Security Engineer or GCP Security Engineer certification.
Experience with threat hunting, forensic analysis, and advanced incident response.
