About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated "Senior Mechanical Engineer" for one of our client's to join their team in a key production role. This is a crucial, hands-on design position focused on the full-cycle design of complex HVAC systems for various commercial building types.
If you possess a strong background working within the MEP consulting sector and thrive on technical design execution and client collaboration, this role offers exceptional compensation and a flexible work schedule built around autonomy.
Core Responsibilities:
This role is a dedicated production position. The focus is on technical excellence and design delivery, not personnel management.
- Technical Design Leadership: Execute the hands-on design of complex, high-performance HVAC systems for commercial and institutional projects.
- Client & Architect Engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact, meeting and communicating directly with clients and architectural partners to define project requirements and ensure seamless design coordination.
- Construction Document Production: Produce complete, high-quality construction documents, specifications, and technical reports using industry-standard software tools (Revit, AutoCAD).
- Site & Construction Support: Conduct thorough site inspections during various construction phases to ensure adherence to design specifications and proactively resolve field issues.
- Process Integration: Collaborate with internal MEP teams to ensure integrated, coordinated, and efficient building system designs.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
- Experience Context (MEP Firm): Primary experience must be gained while working in a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm whose client base is predominantly architectural firms.
- System Design Expertise: Proven knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in the design and construction of the following:
- Hydronic Systems (chilled water, hot water, and steam distribution).
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) integration and controls.
- Software Proficiency: Mandatory, demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design and document creation.
- Role Commitment: Willingness to work primarily in a hands-on, production-focused design role.
Preferred Qualifications (A Significant Plus):
- Experience in designing HVAC systems for Hospital and other Healthcare facilities.
- Experience using Trane Trace 700 for building cooling load calculations.
- Experience using Trane Trace 700 for advanced energy modeling and analysis.
