Role Overview
We are hiring a Medical Malpractice Claims Specialist for one of our client, where you will manage complex medical malpractice claims and support legal processes from investigation to resolution. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep understanding of medical/legal frameworks, and the ability to handle high-exposure claim files. You will also support the training and oversight of junior Claims Specialists.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and oversee medical malpractice claim files, including coordinating defense counsel
- Handle increasingly complex cases with higher financial exposure
- Conduct investigations: interview members, review medical records, obtain expert opinions
- Prepare and present case evaluation reports to review committees (CRC / CSC)
- Participate in litigation activities: discovery, mediation, MSC, negotiation
- Monitor arbitrations and communicate updates to members and attorneys
- Maintain accurate claim documentation and update claims database
- Code and index claim files within the OnBase system
- Assist in training Claims Specialist I & II team members
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Background in legal studies, medical field, or equivalent
- 5+ years of medical malpractice claims management OR 3+ years general claims experience
- Strong knowledge of claim investigations, litigation processes, and medical terminology
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys, physicians, experts, and internal teams
