Bridge the gap between design and production by optimizing procurement, slashing fabric wastage, and maintaining a lean, high-performing inventory.
Location: Nazimabad S.I.T.E Area, Karachi
Industry: Textile / Women’s Apparel Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Manager / Head of Procurement
Timings: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Monday – Saturday)
Job Summary:
The Fabric Incharge will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the fabric lifecycle for our women’s apparel production lines. This includes strategic sourcing, procurement, quality assurance, and meticulous inventory control. The successful candidate will act as a vital bridge between the Design, Production, and Procurement departments to ensure that high-quality materials are available on time to meet seasonal collection deadlines and manufacturing targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing & Procurement
Identify, evaluate, and source fabrics that align with seasonal collections and specific design requirements.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure cost-efficiency and timely availability.
Maintain a robust database of reliable suppliers and stay informed about new fabric developments and market trends.
2. Quality Compliance
Perform rigorous quality checks on incoming fabric lots to verify compliance with company standards (texture, GSM, color fastness, print precision, and durability).
Manage "Lab Dip" approvals and ensure color consistency across different batches.
Resolve any quality-related disputes with vendors and manage the return/replacement process for defective materials.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management
Maintain real-time, accurate inventory records using management software.
Oversee proper storage techniques to prevent damage, moisture, or deterioration of delicate fabrics.
Monitor stock levels to prevent "stock-outs" while avoiding over-purchasing.
4. Operational Coordination
Collaborate closely with the Production team to issue fabrics according to the daily cutting and stitching schedules.
Track fabric consumption and average usage per garment to identify trends and minimize wastage.
Assist management in budgeting and forecasting fabric requirements for upcoming quarters.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in fabric management or textile procurement, specifically within the apparel industry.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of textiles used in women’s wear (lawn, silk, chiffon, cotton, etc.), including technical specifications and seasonal trends.
Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel is mandatory) and experience with Inventory Management Systems (ERP/WMS).
Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage relationships with local and national suppliers.
Analytical Skills: Ability to calculate consumption patterns and manage procurement budgets effectively.

Monthly Salary: Market Competitive (Based on experience and expertise).
Overtime: Paid extra as and when required by the production schedule.
