Role Overview:
Lead and manage all technical and commercial aspects of large, complex capital investment projects.
Oversee projects with budgets ranging from $5M to $60M, involving material handling systems, abatement systems, utilities, and electrical controls.
Ensure project execution aligns with scope, safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
Serve as a key contributor to strategic decision-making through collaboration with the project steering team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage project scopes, specifications, schedules, budgets, and financial forecasts.
Define equipment and work specifications; select materials, equipment, project resources, and contractors.
Conduct technical and commercial design reviews to ensure functionality, safety, and quality.
Lead cross-functional project teams including plant personnel, engineering disciplines, procurement teams, and external engineering contractors.
Manage contractor and subcontractor selection, bidding processes, and performance.
Negotiate project changes and manage change orders effectively.
Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
Provide regular updates and recommendations to the project steering team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical required).
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven project management experience with capital projects up to $25M.
Strong experience managing contractors and subcontractors, including bid and vendor selection processes.
Demonstrated ability to prepare project estimates, schedules, and technical deliverables.
Strong negotiation skills with proven experience managing scope, cost, and schedule changes.
Exposure to SAP systems preferred.
Willingness to travel extensively (30%–60%).
Work Environment:
Manufacturing facility setting with potential exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving mechanical equipment, heights, dust, fumes, and extended walking or climbing.
