What you'll do
Enhance and maintain the IMS-to-DB2 bridge for smooth data flow
Translate IMS log updates into actionable DB2 SQL commands
Ensure consistency and integrity across IMS and DB2 systems
Optimize PL/1 programs for data transformations
Maintain and evolve IMS data models in real-time environments
Implement transaction load balancing strategies across IMS tables
Work with DBAs to plan storage and monitor resource usage
Update COBOL apps via IMS APIs for performance improvements
Manage MQ messaging for real-time processing and inter-system communication
Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe performance issues
Who you are
Expert in IMS, DB2, CICS, PL/1, COBOL, JCL, and MQ
Strong technical knowledge of IMS at system and application levels
Hands-on IMS DBA experience, including planning storage for new tables and monitoring existing table usage
Skilled in analyzing IMS logs and enabling efficient data propagation
Experienced in PL/1 and COBOL program optimization
Familiar with mainframe administration, including JCL, VSAM, Z/OS, DB2, and Autosys
Ability to model data, balance loads, and optimize transaction performance
Exposure to card and payment systems is a plus
Analytical, solution-oriented, and excellent communicator
Collaborative team player who thrives in high-stakes environments
