Quality Engineer
Position: In Process Quality Inspector/ Quality Engineer
Reports To: Quality Manager-QA
Job Overview:
The In-Process Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards during all stages of manufacturing. This role monitors production processes, performs inspections, and identifies non-conformities to prevent defects and reduce rework. Success in this position is demonstrated by consistent adherence to quality standards, minimal production defects, and timely reporting of quality issues. The role supports overall operational excellence by maintaining product integrity and contributing to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Verify the availability of relevant documents at the processing area like work instruction, Route cards, Product drawing, Control Plan, In process Inspection reports, First component approval report, etc.
To ensure that proper identification and traceability requirements are maintained in the process and locations.
To ensure non-conformance parts identification and follow up until declaring the rejection. And follow up on the 8D report for non-conformance parts.
To carry out the Stage inspection report as per work instruction.
To ensure that all the inspection, measuring and testing equipment have necessary calibration stickers or month colour identification.
To maintain control charts for critical characteristic
Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience Required:
Worked in manufacturing precision products and sheet metal industries. Min 3 years’ experience. Experience in inspecting machined components, fabricated sheet metal parts, and assemblies using standard measuring tools.
Familiarity with reading engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality documentation standards.
